2007 $1 60th Anniversary of Australian Peacekeeping Uncirculated Coin. In 1947, Australia provided the first United Nations peacekeepers, in Indonesia. Over 30,000 Australians have served in over fifty international peacekeeping missions. Our peacekeepers have come from the army, navy and air force, the police, and civilian organisations. With compassion, they have helped many people whose lives have been affected by conflict.
