2008 $10 Gold Proof Coin, Centenary of Scouts Australia. Lord Baden-Powell developed his ideas about 'Scouting' during his time as a British Army officer in the late 19th century. His 'Scouting for Boys', first published in 1908, drew an enthusiastic response in England and its influence soon spread across the world. Scouting made its first appearance in Australia in 1908 and some two million Australians - boys and girls-have benefitied from what is now the world's largest youth movements. This gold proof coin from the Royal Australian Mint celebrates the Centenary of Scouts Australia in 2008. Limited mintage of 1500 with this coin numbered 1015.
