2009 The Reef, 1/2 oz Silver Proof Lionfish Coin. Covered in red and black bands, the Lionfish has very long pectoral and dorsal fins. The dorsal fin comprises an array of extremely venomous spines, which are used for protection against predators. Growing to around 35 cm in length, the Lionfish can be found in tropical waters around the west, north and east coasts of Australia. The coin's reverse includes The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark. The Perth Mint released no more than 10,000 of these coins. Certificate of Authenticity is included with this coin numbered 1905. *Please note outer box has some very minimal lines.
