2010 The Australian Taxation Office Centenary PNC. A healthy taxation and superannuation system is a vital community asset that contributes to the growth and development of our nation and its people. For 100 years the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has worked for all Australians, helping them understand their rights so they can meet their obligations and protect the system by identifying and dealing with those people unwilling to do the right thing. Beginning in 1910 as the Land Tax Office in the Commonwealth Treasury, its purpose was to collect revenue to fund Australia's old age and invalid pension. From the outset, Commissioners of Taxation emphasised the importance of this connection between the work of the ATO and the continued well-being and prosperity of all Australians. Featuring 'working for all Australians' commemorative Twenty Cent Coin and commemorative Sixty Cent stamp.
