2011 $1 100 Years of Census Uncirculated Coin

RRP $18.00

2011 $1 100 Years of Census Uncirculated Coin. Australia's first nationally coordinated Census was taken on 2 April 1911. It contained 21 questions and revealed a population of 4,455,005. Many of these questions are still used today. The Census of 1947 played an important role redirecting post-WWII Australia in the areas of migration and infrastructure and, the 1971 Census was the first to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the official population enumeration. The Census is an important tool for determining where schools and hospitals are needed, allocating federal funding to states and territories and planning community services and facilities. Continuing in this fine tradition, the data from the 2011 Census will again be helping to chart the course of our nation's future. Mintage unlimited.
