2016 In come the Dollars, In come the Cents Six Coin Uncirculated Set. A critical part of the transition to decimal currency in 1966 was an extensive public education program that the Decimal Currency Board launched in the print media, radio and television. Schools introduced the new currency to their students, the Retail Trader's Association held special lectures for members, and a cartoon character, Dollar Bill, was everywhere. A range of products and souvenirs was issued to commemorate the event and help public understanding. These included items such as currency converters, coin sets and everyday items like clear glass tumblers with images of the new decimal coins and equivalents in pre-decimal currency stamped on the sides. The emphasis was on how much simpler the new system would be, especially when it came to calculating additions and subtractions. The mintage of this uncirculated set is limited to 10,000, with this set numbered 8891. 50 cent Metal 80% AG, Weight 13.28 grams, Diameter 31.51mm, 20 cent Metal CuNi, Weight 11.30 grams, Diameter 28.52 mm, 10 cent Metal CuNi, Weight 5.65 grams, Diameter 23.60 mm, 5 cent Metal CuNi, 2 cent Metal Bronze, Weight 5.20 grams Diameter 21.59 grams, 1 cent Metal Bronze, Weight 2.60 grams Diameter 17.53 mm.
